Ingredients
1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
1box yellow cake mix
1/2(1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1/2tspground cinnamon (optional)
1/4cupchopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. If you like a little extra spice, sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apple pie filling, making sure to cover it completely.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. If you’re adding nuts, sprinkle them over the top as well.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
